Product guide / Metrics

your numbers, by period and version

Know which numbers the plan is built on.

Metrics gives the company one period-, version-, and source-aware view of its operating numbers, so the same figures can carry a review, a scenario, and a stakeholder update.

Metrics by vertical

B2B SaaS

Operalta switches the metric set with the vertical instead of forcing one generic KPI model across all company types.

Where this helps

Two executives quoting the same metric from different periods is not a reporting problem. It is a governance problem.

The question it puts in front of you

Which number is the plan actually built on?

Where judgment belongs

Every figure is entered, imported, or granted by a person. The numbers are yours, entirely.

What gets prepared for you

AI can explain a number and point at its history. It never computes one, and it never overwrites one.

Numbers & communication

What the grid keeps straight.

01

Track standard and custom metrics by period.

02

Separate actuals, budget, forecast, and snapshots.

03

Enter figures directly, import CSV, or use supported connected sources.

04

Carry the selected figures into FounderFin, Reports, and published views.

Metrics in the real world

One number, one period, one version — and a history behind it.

The lifecycle is deliberate: enter or import data, select the period and version, review the history, then use the selected values in financial and stakeholder products. Metrics stays a deterministic data layer. AI can explain a number; it must never invent or silently overwrite one.

Investor-side account metrics run on a separate private timeline. Company grants and publications expose controlled company or report snapshots — never the investor’s private account-metrics history.

What holds up

What it does well, and what it was never meant to do.

Constraints are a design position, not an apology. Everything on the left ships today; everything on the right we decided against.

What you can rely on in Metrics

  • Standard and custom metrics, with their history and actuals.
  • Import and export as CSV, filtered by version.
  • Outsiders see a frozen snapshot you granted, never the live grid.

What we chose not to build

  • AI never computes or changes a company number.
  • Not every metric is tracked automatically.
  • Live metrics are not shared with stakeholders by default.
  • This does not promise that spreadsheets are never needed.

Outputs & automation

CSV filtered by metric version

None of this is trapped in the interface. The same API and CLI that produce these outputs are how you drive Operalta from your own tools — a script, a terminal, or another product entirely.
